Week Two of Fortnite’s Deadpool challenges leak

Start collecting now!

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 is officially out now, and one of the most surprising additions to the new season is that of Deadpool, Marvel’s iconic hero. Initially spotted in the trailer for Chapter 2 – Season 2, it was revealed that players would be able to obtain a Deadpool skin for completing various challenges in this season’s Battle Pass.

Before you start, it’s important to note that Deadpool isn’t in the game just yet, but will be in the future. Because he’s likely to be one of the “mystery” skins that get unlocked later in Chapter 2 – Season 2’s lifespan, you’ll be doing challenges for at least a couple of weeks as you work to unlock him. The first week of challenges is out now, but the second week of challenges recently leaked ahead of the weekly update for Fortnite.

Twitter user iFireMonkey — who is well-known for datamining various Fortnite secrets — uncovered the following list.

You can check out the full list of challenges below, and remember, the Week 2 challenges won’t be live until 9:30 a.m. EDT on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Week 1 challenges

Week 2 challenges

  • Find Deadpool’s milk carton (0/1)
  • Find Deadpool’s chimichangas around HQ (0/3)

Once you finish with the first two challenges, you’re all set and all caught up on the current set of Deadpool challenges until Thursday. Currently, it seems as if two challenges will release per week, so make sure to keep checking back, as we’ll update this page with future challenges as they get revealed.

If you’re looking for more challenges to do, you can always check out the full list of Brutus’ Briefing to see what you’ve missed, still need to complete, or head back to the main menu to prepare for the next challenge. There is a lot to do this week, so you’ll be busy exploring Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 for some time!

Oculus v14 adds microphone support for Oculus Quest via Oculus Link

Your friends will finally be able to hear you speak.

What you need to know

  • Oculus software update version 14 adds microphone support for the Oculus Quest when using it through Oculus Link.
  • Oculus Link is now accessible via the Oculus Quest menu bar, making it easier to jump into PC VR gaming.
  • Software version 14 should be available for download this week.

While Oculus Quest users have been able to play PC VR games via the Oculus Link service since late last year, there’s always been one glaring issue with the way Oculus Link works. Simply put, the microphone on the Oculus Quest was disabled any time you hooked it up to your PC via a USB Type-C cable, which made multiplayer games extremely difficult. Players either had to utilize a headset with a built-in microphone and plug it into the 3.5mm audio jacks on either side of the Oculus Quest, or just go without talking to other players.

Now, with Oculus Software version 14, you won’t have to deal with this horrendous limitation. That’s great news for Oculus Quest players that were sick of workarounds or having a muted voice, and it likely means that Facebook will be pushing Oculus Link out of beta in the near future and branding the feature as a “stable” release. It’s been half a year since Oculus announced Oculus Link and, now that this final feature has been added, means that there’s almost no reason to choose an Oculus Rift S over an Oculus Quest when deciding between the two.

How to connect Oculus Quest to your computer

In addition to enabling the microphone, Oculus is adding an Oculus Link button right to the Oculus Home menu bar inside your Oculus Quest. That means jumping from Quest to Rift functionality is now just a simple press of a button from the dashboard. Oculus says to expect the version 14 update to appear on your Oculus Quest sometime this week.

Oculus has been quickly adding features to the Quest since launch, and it feels like every month brings some epic new feature that makes the Oculus Quest one of the best values in gaming. The last big update for the Oculus Quest brought about automated hand-tracking when controllers aren’t detected. There aren’t any commercial games available with hand-tracking support just yet, but we’ve got a great guide for some fun free games that you can try on your Quest right now.

While the official Oculus Link cable costs a fair bit of cash, 3rd party alternatives from Amazon are far cheaper and work just as well. In fact, Oculus even recommended the excellent $8 cable below before the official cable was available, making it a substantially cheaper investment if you’re got a VR-ready gaming PC.

Easy as ABC USB-C

Amazon sells a great line of USB Type-C cables that are perfectly compatible with your Oculus Quest. Be sure to choose a nice long one so that you have enough slack to comfortable move around in VR!

Review: The Case-Mate Tough Case for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is superb

One of the first cases for the Galaxy Z Flip is easily one of the best too. Case-Mate’s Tough Case makes using the Z Flip better. Here’s why.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is arguably one of the most exciting phones of 2020 – and one of the most expensive. While the all-glass chassis looks stunning, it also makes the Z Flip extremely slippery. It’s so slick it causes anxiety every time you grab and open it.

The Case-Mate Tough Case for the Z Flip ($40) is one of the first on the market. It’s also so good I don’t feel I need to find something better. Here’s why this is a solid choice for those who want to protect the Z Flip.

Case-Mate Tough Case for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

Bottom line: The Case-Mate Tough Case not only looks great, but it offers serious protection for one of the most expensive and delicate phones on the market. It also makes using the Z Flip easier and more enjoyable, all for a reasonable price.

Pros

  • Precision cutouts and fit
  • 10-foot drop protection
  • One-piece design
  • Improves the Z Flip
  • Lifetime warranty

Cons

  • Not cheap
  • Fingerprint reader is a bit odd
  • Could be more grippy

$40 at AT&T

Case-Mate Tough Case design and features

Case-Mate is a well-known brand and one of the first to work with Samsung directly on the Z Flip for accessories. That means all the cutouts, fit and finish, and design is made for the Z Flip (versus some knock off cheap solution).

As the name implies, the Tough Case is much more than just cosmetic protection. Indeed, Case-Mate says this case is rated for 10-foot drop protection. Considering most phone drops are waist-level (so around 3 feet), this puts the Tough Case at the more extreme end for phone armor.

There are cutouts for the rear camera and LCD secondary display, power button, speakers, microphones, and Type-C charging port. The volume rockers have tactile faux buttons.

Much more than just cosmetic protection.

The case corners have a slight bulge to them due to being reinforced for drops. Most phone damage happens on the edges causing the chassis to shatter, so this is smart.

For installation, there is nothing to it. The case snaps on, and Case-Mate has a piece of material that even covers the hinge offering cosmetic protection. There are no adhesive strips, unlike the including TPU case that Samsung puts in the Z Flip’s box.

The case is a robust, reinforced design with not a lot of flex, especially on the flat back. While it can pick up fingerprints due to the matte black color scheme, it is infinitely better than the TPU case or just using the Z Flip without a case.

Case-Mate Tough Case what you’ll love

Due to the design, the Tough Case makes the Z Flip feel better to hold and use. For instance, there is a slightly raised lip around the display. Not only is that design great for added protection, but it also means the Z Flip now completely closes with no gap between the folded screens. A secondary effect of this choice is the Z Flip now opens slightly more natural since it can’t close as much as without the case.

The Tough Case makes the Z Flip feel better to hold and use.

Because the power button and fingerprint reader have a large cutout and the volume keys use faux buttons, you can now easily distinguish between the two when not looking. Your finger naturally falls into that power button cutout, which is excellent.

For the overall design, Case-Mate kept it simple, clean, and minimalist. The Z Flip looks professional, and it even hides the somewhat flashy Samsung logo on the hinge (while protecting it from scratches). Due to the recess of the camera area, the front display and dual camera setup are also well protected.

The quality and craftsmanship here feel top-notch, too, with no apparent design defects. Qi charging also works just fine with this case during my testing.

Case-Mate Tough Case What you won’t like

No case is perfect, and there are a few quibbles with this one. The price is a bit high at $40 – but compared to Samsung’s official $70 leather case, it’s a bargain. Still, the case market is flooded with cheap $10 options, and the same will happen with the Z Flip in due time.

The recessed power button brings a negative side effect in reducing fingerprint reader accuracy. You’ll likely have to redo your fingerprint scans to get them working again due to the change in angles.

Some people may take offense at the hinge cover, which slightly bulges when laying flat. It’s a fair point, but it is a minor inconvenience.

Case-Mate says this case has a “tactile grip.” They’re overselling it. Yes, it is absolutely less slippery compared to no case and it is certainly better than the included TPU one, but this Case-Mate is smooth all around. Some actual grip pads would have gone a long way to making it even more tactile.

Case-Mate Tough Case for Galaxy Z Flip is a winner

The Case-Mate Tough Case is an easy recommendation for Z Flip owners. I’m so happy with it that I’m not looking for alternatives.

For one, it delivers excellent drop protection. Even if the ten-foot claim is hyperbolic, this case can easily handle average three-foot drops. The corners are reinforced, and there are shock-absorbing materials on the inside.

The design also looks great. It’s matte, black, and clean looking. The cutouts make it easier to use (once you redo your fingerprint scans), including opening the Z Flip.

4.5
out of 5

I’m also happy to report that while the Tough Case adds some girth to the Z Flip, I barely noticed it. That’s because even when folded in half, the Z Flip is still smaller and easier to pocket than any other 6.7-inch phone on the market. This case does not change that.

Crucially, this case gives me something that’s not advertised on the box: confidence. The Z Flip is a very luxurious phone that has an incredibly fragile glass exterior. When combined with being super slippery and having to pry it open to use it, it’s a bit nerve-racking to use. With this case, not only is the Z Flip more comfortable to open and use, but I have less fear of dropping it or tossing it on the table. The Case-Mate Tough Case makes the Z Flip feel like a regular phone, and that’s well worth the $40 price tag.

Clean looks and solid protection

The Case-Mate Tough Case not only protects the Z Flip from most drops, but it also makes using the phone better inspiring confidence.

A new way to fold

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

Your pockets’ best friend

If you’re intimidated by the Galaxy Fold, the Z Flip brings Samsung’s folding tech to a much more accessible form factor. When it’s open, the Z Flip looks like any other Android phone. Fold it up, and it becomes incredibly portable and much easier to fit into tight pockets or small bags.

Horizon Zero Dawn PC listing appears on Amazon France

PC gamers might get to play one of Sony’s biggest PlayStation 4 exclusives soon.

What you need to know

  • A listing for a PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn showed up on Amazon France earlier today.
  • A prior report indicated that Horizon Zero Dawn would be coming to PC.
  • Sony is also directly publishing Predator: Hunting Grounds on PC.

More and more evidence is slowly starting to build for Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC. A listing on Amazon France that has now been removed showed a PC version of the game, directly published by Sony. While the listing has been pulled, you can see what it looked like in the Twitter post from Nibellion below.

A short while ago, a report from Jason Schreier at Kotaku indicated that Sony was looking to bring Horizon Zero Dawn to PC. Schreier’s report indicated it would be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, though obviously plans can change. Given that February 28 is the third anniversary of the game, it’s possible an announcement will be coming soon.

It’s also worth noting that Death Stranding is coming to PC sometime later this year, another game developed with Sony’s proprietary Decima engine. Kojima Productions is however an independent studio, while Guerrilla Games, the developer of Horizon Zero Dawn, are part of Sony Worldwide Studios. If it does happen, it won’t be the only game Sony brings to PC in 2020, as the company is also directly publishing the PC version of Predator: Hunting Grounds, a console exclusive title being developed by Illfonic.

How to use Google Duo in the Galaxy S20 phone dialer

With the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung has integrated Google Duo directly into the phone dialer, making it easy for you to video call your friends and family. You can initiate a video call from the phone dialer, and you’ll be taken to Duo for the call itself. Here’s how you can make Duo calls from your S20’s phone dialer.

Products used in this guide

How to use Google Duo in the Galaxy S20 phone dialer

  1. Open the phone dialer.
  2. Select the contact you want to video call.
  3. Tap the Duo icon underneath the contact’s details to initiate a video call.

  4. The video call will be transferred over to Duo, and you can chat like you would on any Duo call.
  5. You can also switch from a regular voice call to a video call. When you’re in a call, hit the Video call button to switch to Duo.

Baking Duo into the Galaxy S20’s phone dialer makes it that much easier to start a video call with the software. You no longer have to go to Duo and browse through your contacts to start a call. The best part about this integration is that you can seamlessly switch from a regular call to a Duo video call straight from the dialer.

Do note that for Duo integration to work, your contacts will have to set up Duo. Google’s video calling service comes pre-installed on all new Android phones, and as it works with phone numbers, there isn’t a lot to set up here.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will have a lot more lightsaber action

Look forward to “major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show”.

What you need to know

  • The Mandolorian Season 2 will have more lightsaber action, according to Giancarlo Esposito who plays Moff Gideon.
  • The comments were made at FAN EXPO in Vancouver at a spotlight panel.
  • Baby Yoda will not be wielding a lightsaber when this season launches in October.

One thing Star Wars is known for, and the Mandolorian is not, is its epic lightsaber battles. From the dance-like moves of the Prequels, the modern action of the Sequels, the violent explosive action of the games, nothing gets Star Wars fan more revved up than a good old lightsaber duel.

The Mandalorian Season One had a dearth of those kinds of battles, and Season 2 seems to be making up for it.

As reported by Comicbook.com:

Mando star Giancarlo Esposito was on hand at FAN EXPO Vancouver earlier this month, where he revealed to an eager crowd he’s gotten plenty of time using the Darksaber during the course of Season Two production.

“The prop guys are wondering about me because I was in a bit of a commotion and a bit of a struggle with someone else, which I’m hoping you will enjoy when you see it,” Esposito said during his spotlight panel. “Major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show, and I should mention that I’m the only character in this first season who was able to be honored with having that lightsaber. So it feels wonderful.”

Naturally, they were quick to ask whether or not Moff Gideon would be going toe-to-toe with a lightsaber-wielding Din Djarin or Baby Yoda, a notion the actor quickly shut down.

“Well, no way. [Laughs],” the Mando star added. “It ain’t gonna happen, baby! Anything is possible, and you keep watching. Because although the baby has some incredible power, without having to wield the Darksaber, I think the baby is so curious about what this is. So you will be enthused and inspired when you see the scene I’m referring to in Season 2, which is to come in October. Keep watching.”

The Mandalorian is coming to Disney+ in the UK next month when it launches, but users on all regions will have to wait till October for the next installment of this Star Wars story.

Surface Duo peek view shown off in a leaked video

A leaked video shows off a new way to interact with the Surface Duo.

What you need to know

  • A leaked video shows off a peek view on the Surface Duo.
  • The feature appears to let you view and interact with a sliver of the phone with the device partially flipped open.
  • The view shows the date and notifications in the video.

A new feature for the Surface Duo appears in a leaked video. Twitter user and well-known leaker WalkingCat, shared a video of the Surface Duo with simply the word “Peek” attached. The video shows off a way you can interact with a sliver of the Duo’s screen without having to open the device all the way.

In the video, it shows how you can interact with a small portion of the Surface Duo’s display. After the device is partially opened, the display shows the date, some other information, and the device’s notifications. You can interact with the notifications, including scrolling through them and swiping them away.

Since this is a leaked video, the feature might not be available on the Surface Duo when it releases. If the feature is available, it would seem like a good way to interact with your phone with a bit of privacy. You could crack it open, swipe through some notifications, and close it back up. It also seems a bit quicker than opening the device all the way.

A second video from WalkingCat (shown above) shows the same feature previewing a person’s call details. When you open the Duo a crack, you see who is calling; then, you can open it all the way to accept or reject the call.

Google has reportedly applied for a license to resume business with Huawei

A green light from the U.S. government will allow Huawei to regain access to Google Mobile Services and the Play Store.

What you need to know

  • Android and Google Play vice-president Sameer Samat has revealed that Google has applied to the U.S. government for permission to resume business with Huawei.
  • If the application is approved, Huawei would be able to resume shipping phones with Google services out of the box.
  • Thanks to the U.S. ban, Huawei’s latest phones come with Huawei Mobile Services instead of Google Mobile Services.

Google recently warned users against sideloading its apps on new Huawei devices, as doing so could pose a security threat. Due to the trade ban on Huawei, the Chinese company’s latest devices are not Play Protect certified. Its foldable Mate Xs and Honor’s 9X Pro, which were announced earlier this week, will ship with Huawei Mobile Services out of the box. As per a new report, however, Huawei may soon be able to resume using Google services on its devices.

Speaking to DPA, Android and Google Play vice-president Sameer Samat has revealed that Google has applied for a license to resume business with Huawei. If the U.S. government grants a license to Google, it would mean that future Huawei smartphones can ship with Google services out of the box. In November last year, Microsoft was granted a license to export mass-market software to Huawei, after which the Chinese company resumed shipping notebooks with Windows.

Sadly, however, Samat did not say how long it could take for a decision to be made on the license application. In case the application is rejected, Huawei will have to continue using Huawei Mobile Services on its phones. It will also need to further bolster its AppGallery, which it claims is now the third-largest app store in the world, with more than 400,000 monthly users.
